On 17 June 2026, reflexGroup, part of the German Winkelmann Group, officially opened its new production plant in Rimavská Sobota, Slovakia. The facility is focused on the production of hot water tanks and storage tanks for heating and cooling systems, including applications connected with heat pumps and modern energy-efficient technologies.
The investment represents an important industrial development for the Rimavská Sobota region. The total value of the project is approximately 128 million euro, with the potential to create up to 450 jobs in the coming years. At the time of the official opening, the plant already employed more than 180 people. The planned annual production capacity is approximately 300.000 units, with products mainly intended for European markets.
The new production plant covers around 49,000 m2 and was developed as a modern manufacturing and logistics facility. It strengthens reflexGroup’s production footprint in Europe and supports the growing demand for efficient heating and cooling solutions.
“If you look at the energy transition that Europe must undergo, it cannot do so without heat pumps. And when you consider the number of heat pumps and storage tanks needed, demand exceeds the capacity we currently have available. That’s precisely why we decided that we need to invest in a new plant so that we can meet the demand that is currently being driven by the energy transition across Europe,” said Winkelmann Group head Christian Knechtel.
The official opening was also attended by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who highlighted Slovakia’s strong industrial position in the European Union and the close economic links between Slovakia and Germany. He also thanked German companies for the work ethic, working conditions, technological solutions and added value they bring to Slovak industry.
Wesconi supported the project with consulting, interim management and greenfield project management services from greenfield development to the start of production. In the role of Head of Greenfield Project, our focus was on project coordination, cooperation with state authorities, operational preparation, approval processes and the practical transition from construction to a functioning production environment.
We are pleased that Wesconi’s experience in industrial plant management contributed to the successful implementation of this important project. We congratulate reflexGroup and Winkelmann Group on the official opening of the new production plant and thank them for their trust and cooperation.
